What an event ! Thank you to everyone who attended and worked to make the Llanharan Community Council VE Day 80th anniversary celebration such a resounding success.

Thank you to Cllr Janine Turner - County Member Brynna & Llanharan Ward who worked so hard and led the organisation of the event supported by the members of the working group Neil Feist - Liberal Democrat Community Councillor for Llanharan ward, Chris Parker, Robert Smith and Rhys Jenkins - Community Councillor who were also all out in force putting a shift in as event marshals on the day, along with Cllrs Rhys Jenkins, Claire Morgan as well as Jan Parker and Giovanna Jenkins. And also to Cllr Geraint Hopkins who arranged for the man himself Sir Winston to attend (it’s not what you know….)

Thanks also to Llanharan Miners Welfare Hall & Fields specifically Sarah, Martin, Adrian, Judith, Maria and John who served beautiful afternoon tea in the hall, and for their help with the event.

Thanks to our exhibitors both local and from further afield who made the day so special exhibiting WW2 vehicles, memorabilP Commando RN Reenactment Group and uniforms including the amazing D8 dozer-thanks Carl) and to the amazing P Commando RN Reenactment Group who even gave a (blank) demonstration of firing WW2 weapoPrichard'sugh the grenade almost gave some of a heart attack !). We really appreciate everyone giving up their time 👏🏻👏🏻

ThaRycon Toolhire Ltd(Tom Prichard) for their veRycon TooRocket Securitythe low loader for the dozer aRocket Securityed waste bins, and to Rycon Toolhire Ltd for the event toilets.

Thanks to Rocket Security for providing top class SIA marshals and to St John Ambulance for first aid cover.

Finally (I think) thanks to our performers, suppliers and food and drink vendors who kept everyone fed and watered and entertained and in particular @mobile disco and entertainments Cardiff who were busy all day with the inflatable bouncy castle and slide and @onstage for
the professional staging and sound engineering for our wonderful performers @midnight Martini, @Ricky Hunter and the @Mid Glamorgan mixed choir.

Apologies if I’ve missed anyone but this is now officially the longest post in Community Council history my thumbs are sore and Facebook is insisting on jumbling up the text - I’ll try again Monday 😃!
